Key West Job Opportunity:

Beach Bucks is a tourist coupon guide that has been distributed in Ft. Lauderdale and Key West for over ten years.  Currently we need someone to handle both distribution and sales in Key West.

In Key West, the booklet is distributed via five distribution boxes located on Duval and adjacent streets, and via local hotels.  Each box holds about 2000 pieces and need to be replenished about once every 4-6 weeks.  This duty requires parking near the boxes, transporting the booklets to the boxes and filling them. A simple two wheel carrier, which I can provide, is used to carry the materials to the boxes.  

PLEASE NOTE:  Boxes, when full, weigh about 40 pounds and must be put into your car and then onto the two-wheel cart as needed.

Booklets are also distributed at local hotels and motels as allowed. They are distributed in small, plastic baskets with a Beach Bucks logo on the front.   Each basket can comfortably hold about 100 booklets.

In addition to the hotels on the main highway that circles the island, it is also important to reach the hotels and motels on the many side streets and avenues not on the loop that circles the island, as I have discovered.

Based on my own experience, it is approximately one full day’s work to service the boxes, circle the island and then do as many hotels on side streets and avenues as possible.  The pay for distribution is $90, plus $10 for gas, per month.  Distribution does not have to be done all at once, but needs to be done monthly.

SALES

In addition to distribution, there is an opportunity to earn income from ad sales for Beach Bucks.  There is currently a small roster of loyal advertisers in the booklet and room for many more. What is needed is someone who is willing to call on local tourist-based advertisers, explain the benefits and ask for the order.  Simple, right?

In today’s market, ad sales is never simple.  There’s much competition, and advertisers are cautious, as they should be.  Generous commissions await the person who can sell.

I will offer a 50% commission for any new contract, and 25% for renewals.  Contracts have to be a minimum of six months, as we publish twice a year.  A typical new contract for one page would be six months @ $125 per month, which would earn you $375 commission, paid on collections, with a minimum of 50% down, except for large established accounts.  All orders would have to be accompanied by a signed contract.  

There is a one time ad production fee of $45, or the client can provide an ad to us. This fee goes directly to the printer, by the way.

One new order per month on the above terms would earn you $375, plus the distribution earnings.
